More than One Sided Thinking

I was in a situation that I had been caught up in for a long time and if I hadn’t realized it, I would have continued to drift. What triggered me to come to my senses was the soundtrack of The Last Samurai. I had the chance to watch myself from a distance, to see where I was going, and what I was doing. And the direction I was running in was actually nothing more than following the carrot that was always one step ahead of me. It was taking me nowhere.

The hustle culture that we encounter a new version of every day on social media, always wanting more, being material-oriented, and never being satisfied, eventually brought me to a point where there was no spirituality left, where I felt inadequate and meaningless.

I only became aware of this nonsensical hollowed out movement when I felt really bad and maybe couldn’t find a way out. Questions came along with it. Emotions, ambitions, struggles, and disappointments come with being human.

I realize that we should never look at life in a one sided way. There are so many possibilities, so many steps to be taken that we don’t even think about… And these are definitely not only material but also spiritual breakthroughs.

Anyway, I’ll leave here the soundtrack that kind of helped and ignited the fuse that brought me to myself. Maybe it will ignite something in you too if you are looking for it.
