I especially have a great interest in movies. Biography, sports, drama, adventure, comedy, action, science fiction, history, etc. there’re great opportunities they can offer to audiences. I’m talking about being inspired. I have learned plenty of life lessons from them and widened my perspective. Different backgrounds and lives, outrageous places, fascinating thoughts… My curiosity just triggered me to try my chance and joined a knowledge contest on the NTV Radio. In this contest, I specified my branch as Hollywood Cinema, it was somehow weird but definitely fun 😄

Last night I wanted to give a shot at the movie Hustle for which I was curious about its story, basketball, scouting, and Adam Sandler’s performance. Before that, I had some foresight about the storyline. But I’m well pleased the story contained some unexpected things that are similar to life itself.

Before you decide to watch a movie, you compare it to what you’ve seen before. The Damned United, Moneyball, The Blind Side, Any Given Sunday, and Coach Carter are pretty great sports movies I really enjoyed watching. These films had a place in my memory with their unique or impressive scenes. Scouting, statistics, maths, contribution, being a real team, teammate, friendship, common goal, respect, and effort are the ones that come to my mind right now.

How about the Hustle? It has similarities in terms of values to other movies. But I really loved the difference in scenes where our promising basketball player made many mistakes, lost to himself, and missed opportunities. This is life itself, our plans never go exactly the way we want them to. It doesn’t matter whether it’s under big lights or not. We all are the MVP of our life. No one can see the world as we do.

There will be many who will measure our success in life by putting that ball in the basket. But I don’t think success is like that, it’s about getting up and continuing to struggle no matter how hard you fall, as emphasized in the movie. I made many mistakes, did wrong decisions, and defeated to myself too. “Never back down” moment tells us something bigger. On the first day or on the first month of the decision you made things can be hard, or just looks like you’re on the wrong path. But with every small step, every small advancement, we’re going to what we aiming for. So we say no to giving up.
